A Moderate Approach to Children's Orthodontics
As your child grows and develops, orthodontic issues may also arise. Children should visit the orthodontist for an evaluation to identify and monitor any potential problems.
Our orthodontic approach for children is conservative, focusing mainly on observing their growth and development. We only step in when absolutely necessary, typically in situations where a child has a narrow upper jaw, a crossbite, or when adult teeth are unable to grow properly into position.
Early orthodontic evaluation and treatment can help address many common oral problems that children face as they grow up, including speech and eating issues, snoring, teeth grinding, thumb sucking, and more. The information we gather during monitoring can help guide and inform future orthodontic treatment.
At Duong Orthodontics, we offer jaw growth guidance using palatal expanders, along with clear aligners and traditional braces for our young patients.
Consultations & Monitoring for Children
Children should have their first visit to the orthodontist around the age of seven for an orthodontic consultation.
If we determine that orthodontic treatment is necessary, we will begin a treatment plan. If not, we provide free assessment appointments every six to 12 months until your child is ready for comprehensive orthodontic care.
