Our Values
Exceptional Service
We want our patients to feel confident about their orthodontic care. Our team at Duong Orthodontics is here to provide guidance, support, and encouragement throughout every stage of the journey.
We offer customized treatment planning, multiple payment plan and insurance options, and easy post-treatment maintenance to reduce stress and give you a positive experience.
Proactive & Conservative Treatment
Our team prefers a minimalist yet diligent approach to orthodontics. Our goal is always to opt for the most conservative treatment possible for all patients. This is especially true for our young patients whose mouths are still growing and only require orthodontic intervention in complex cases.
Orthodontics for Everyone
At Duong Orthodontics, we believe orthodontics is for everyone. We offer treatment tailored to the needs of children, teens, and adults, as well as accessible payment plans that can be tailored to your unique situation.
Early Evaluations for Children
One of the best ways to promote healthy oral development in children is through an early assessment by an orthodontist. This enables us to identify and promptly address any emerging orthodontic issues.
Orthodontics for Oral Health
There's no doubt that orthodontic treatment can create beautiful smiles. However, orthodontics encompasses much more than esthetics. It focuses on helping patients achieve good oral health that enhances their daily lives.
Better Oral Function
Enhancing the alignment of the teeth and jaws can improve their primary functions – biting, chewing, and speaking. Conditions affecting these essential functions can be debilitating for many patients, and we take great pride in helping them resolve these challenges.
Improved Oral Hygiene
Compared to overcrowded or misaligned teeth, straight teeth make reaching all the spaces between them much easier with a toothbrush and floss. For many of our patients, orthodontic treatment allows for optimal cleaning and prevents serious oral health issues like tooth decay and gum disease.
Long-Term Damage Prevention
Over time, misaligned teeth can experience significant wear and tear due to their uneven contact during talking and chewing, or from compensatory movements. Straightening your teeth can help you avoid much of this wear and tear – and reduce the need for restorative dental treatments in the future.
Knowledge is Power for Patients
We believe that well-informed patients are more likely to succeed with their orthodontic treatment, so our team prioritizes patient communication.
We are always here to address any questions, ensuring our patients understand every aspect of their treatment plans.
Here are our answers to some questions we are frequently asked by new patients about orthodontics.
-
What are the benefits of orthodontics?
Orthodontic treatments aim to align teeth and jaws, providing various esthetic advantages. On top of that, these treatments offer several health benefits.
To start with, misaligned teeth are harder to clean than straight teeth. This increases the risk of tooth decay and gum disease for those with such misalignments. Furthermore, irregularities in the teeth and jaws can create challenges with chewing, which may lead to digestive problems. These misalignments can also contribute to persistent neck and facial pain.
By improving the alignment of the teeth and jaws, orthodontic treatment can help resolve all of these issues.
-
What is an orthodontist?
An orthodontist is a dental specialist who diagnoses, prevents, manages, and corrects misaligned teeth, jaws, and bite patterns.
Candidates must complete an additional three years of university and earn the specialty designation.
-
At what age should someone seek orthodontic treatment?
We generally suggest that children have their first visit to the orthodontist by age seven.
These early evaluations provide us with an opportunity to identify and address emerging, isolated orthodontic issues promptly. In some cases, we can work with a child's developing upper jaw to guide healthy growth. This type of early intervention can help prepare for orthodontic treatment in the teen or adult years.
No one is ever too old to seek orthodontic treatment. As long as their teeth and gums are healthy, adults in their 30s, 40s, and beyond can benefit from orthodontics too!
-
How can I tell if I need orthodontic treatment?
The only way to know if you might benefit from orthodontic treatment is to be evaluated by any orthodontist. You can book an appointment with us anytime (no referral needed).
With that in mind, some signs that you should book a consultation include:
- Visibly misaligned teeth or bite
- Pain or discomfort when chewing
- Difficulty chewing or speaking
- Chronic facial or jaw pain
- Difficulty brushing and flossing
-
What are my orthodontic treatment options at Duong Orthodontics?
We offer two main teeth straightening options – traditional braces and clear aligners. Both options can be tailored to meet the patient's unique needs.
For children, early intervention in the form of jaw growth guidance with appliances like palatal expanders may also be used.
-
How much does orthodontic treatment with braces or clear aligners cost?
Orthodontic treatment costs vary based on several factors, including the severity and complexity of your orthodontic issue, the time required for correction, and the type of treatment you select.
Our team will work with you to develop a treatment plan that takes your budget into consideration. We're also happy to help you submit insurance claims and work with you on a payment plan to help alleviate some of the stress that may come along with paying for treatment.
