Trang Duong, DDS, MS
Dr. Duong opened Duong Orthodontics in Manteca in 1999 and has been practicing in the community for over 25 years. She has been voted Manteca Bulletin Readers' Choice winner for Best Orthodontist five years in a row from 2019 to 2024.
Dr. Duong earned her DDS and MS in Oral Biology from UCSF School of Dentistry. After graduation, she became a consultant in research and development at Align Technology. Dr. Duong went on to become the Director of Clinical Research at Invisalign and oversaw all clinical research that was conducted with universities like University of Pacific, University of Florida, University of Washington, and Indiana University. Her team tested efficacy of attachments, optimal speed of tooth movements, variation of aligner materials, and optimal types of tooth movements.
She is a leader in the field of orthodontics, having lectured nationally and internationally. Additionally, Dr. Duong is a published author on the subjects of TMJ research and Invisalign. In 1999, she won the Harry Sicher Research Award from the American Association of Orthodontics for her research on relaxin and TMJ. She presented the research at the annual AAO meeting as well as the International Acadmey of Dental Research (IADR).
Dr. Duong is passionate about the profession and remains a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, and all of their component societies. Outside of work, she has been involved in the noon Manteca Rotary Club and previously served as Secretary. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis with her kids and running outside.
